UTI Bacteria Treatment

Treatment of a UTI, Urinar Tract Infection, Infection of the Bladder is important but can usually be done quickley and easily if the treatment is done promptly. Usually you need help by a physician or some other health care provider like for instance a nurse. First you will need to confirm your urinary infection. This is done by taking a clean-catch urine specimen, you will simple have to urinate in a cup. If bacteria is found then you will get antibiotics and maybe the doctor will order a urine culture, this means that your bacteria is cultivated and it is determined exactly what bacteria is infecting your bladder. The urine culture takes about 48 hours and then you may have to switch antibiotics depending on what bacteria was found.

UTI Antibiotics

Your Antibiotics will immediately start to battle the bacteria. If you have painful symptoms you may also get medication for this. This will make you more comfortable within hours, but the pain can last several days and the antibiotic will need up to two weeks to wipe every bacteria out. It is very important that you take your antibiotics the whole period until the presciption is finished. If you quit earlier you will still have bacteria lurking around waiting for the best opportunity to infect you again. Also those bacteria that got beating by the antibiotics but is still alive will develop smarter trades from the experince, and they may be more difficult to get rid of the next time. Worst case scenario is that they have gone all resistent to antibiotics! This is very bad not only for yourself!

If you get rashes from the antibiotics or if you have difficulty breathing you must immediately call your physicians and switch medicine. Remember that water is a great way to heal your bladder, so drink lots of it. Watch the color of your urine and drink water in such amounts that the urine looks healthy. Vitamin C and cranberry juice also helps battling your infection, but sexual intercourse and to much sugar may do the opposite.
