What is a Bladder Infection?

A bladder infection is by medical people called a Urinary Tract Infection, or a UTI. This is simple a bacterial infection that affects the urinary tract. The reason for the urinary tract infection is in most cases that bacteria has entered the urine in the bladder and began to multiply. Normally the urine should not contain any bacteria, opposite what many people think urine is often the cleanest of the body fluids.

Most common UTI

The most common UTI, urinary tract infection, is the bladder infection (proper) which is also called a cystitis. This means that it is the bladder itself that has got an inflammation. This type of infection is very common and not regarded as a serious infection.

Kidney Infection UTI

Another kind of UTI, urinary tract infection, is the kidney infection. The type of UTI with kidney infection i also known as pyelonephritis. This kind of infection can be very serious, and it is important to treat this type of UTI quickly or else the kidney could be damaged.
